I use a mix of Elmers glue, sand from the Rustall kit and Tamiya paint. Mix the glue and paint together to get your base, then ad some sand for texture… Apply with a stiff brush in a jabbing motion. When it dries, spray with flat to kill the shine.
I mix pastels/pigments together until I get something that resembles mud (darker is for wet mud). I then brush on Tamiya thinner (not too much) and then dip a paint brush into the pastels/pigments and then hold the brush over the thinner and use my finger to flick the mixture onto the model. After the thinner and pigments are dry I brush glosscote onto the darker pigments to simulate a “wet” look for the mud. If you want to simulate dry mud, use lighter colored pastels/pigments and use the same method to get them onto the model. Don’t brush glosscote if you want a “dry” look for the mud. This link should take you to some pictures and a another way of getting mud on your Tiger.
