Been somewhat busy as of late. I am working on a model that is being used for “how-to” videos on my youtube channel. I am painting and rusting AND posting the videos of the process as I do it. Kind of a video build blog.

Great work on the target! [Y] I had the chance to watch couple of your video clips. It looks very helpful! The only drawback being deaf, I have no idea what kind of paint you used. Maybe you could show us the bottles of paint in the video so anybody who are deaf or doesn’t speak English can figure it out what you are doing. Maybe you can do that in your future clips… I definitely will be watching all of your clips when I have the chance.
I am guessing that after the base coat in part one, you ligthened it up using same paint and did a quick job then at end you used darker paint for the edges & corners, etc?
Excellent videos Rob not only helpful to people wanting to learn the art of rusting but also explains and shows perfectly how to apply a pin wash, so many guys just getting into weathering will love this.

Rob, this is really an outstanding way to bring your forum skills to “the next level”. What an asset for modelers, new and experienced alike! I’ll certainly be watching your other ones when I get the chance here!
One suggestion–do you have a bid or something? Any chance you could get it out of the room when you’re filming? That constant screeching on video is really distracting. Especially in the first part of the video when you’re just speaking int of the camera!

Karl thanks buddy. The bird is actually in the next room but is still very loud. I will try and keep her with me in the same room to see if she stays quiet. Atleast the dogs just lay there in the room with me and stay quiet.
I thought I would show people how I do my rust buckets and share some of my techniques. If it helps at least one person I’m happy.

Rob, super vids man. They will come in very handy very soon. Got something right up your alley. I am doing a 1/48 Komatsu G40 bulldozer for out club GB and it will be a couple decades old in some jungle over growth.

The welds on a rusty or burnt out vehicle are highlighted in light silver/aluminium tone because the high alloy content is basically un-rustable… yes ?

An outstanding contribution to the hobby. I would nominate you for an academy award. I need to watch a few more times for your technical details but it is well done…we did not have to pay like we do for MIG or some other name modelers. It was great that we see you…it humanizes the experience.
