Here’s my techniques and various replies…
Testors liquid cement works great. I’ve also used M.E.K. and straight acetone but was less than thrilled with the acetones performance. The Testors is a Toulene chemical base and it seems to work with most putties.
I use Cutex Nail polish remover the regular stuff with out any scent, It works well on both kinds of squadron putties, but not so well on the testers putty, scince both the putty and the nail polish remover, both contain toulene. It tends to make the testers to thin, to the point of two kinds of runny putty, fast running and even faster running putty.
cheers and happy modilng
When I get a new tube of Squadron green putty… I take an empty bottle of Tamiya paint… Fill 3/4 of bottle with putty… then top it of with denatured alcohol and stir.
Putty comes out as smooth as a babies butt.

I also use alcohol to thin the putty but usually just put a blob on the palette and add a couple of drops of alcohol. never thought of mixing a whole bottle up. Thanks for the idea.
Testors glue? Would never have thought to try that.
