How to remove a decal?

Last night I couldn’t sleep so I decaled a Jagermeister Porsche 956. This morning I discovered that I put the wrong decal on one side (large decal). I have an extra decal that is correct but how do I remove the one thats on there without damaging the enamel paint? I used Testers decal solvent to try and get it to contour to some vents. Thanks, Greg.

tyr pulling it up with some scotch tape, that has worked for me intentionally and unintentionally on several occasions

Great idea I will give it a try!

I have had success with regular brake fluid in the past. Any car parts store has it.

or you could just buy some of that testors decal set.

works for me all the time

Don’t use Scotch tape, except as a last resort. Your chances of damaging the paintwork are excellent. If you don’t want to re-use the decals, then Tamiya tape should do the job without damaging the paintwork. I’ve also had success flooding the decal with Microset, leaving it a few minutes, and then trying to lift the edge of the decal with a paint brush. Once the edge is lifted, it’s easy to remove. With this method, the decal often comes away in one piece and, with care, can be re-used.

Cheers,

Chris.

See, you guys know everything! Thanks!!!

can u still use these methods even after u put a flat coat on?

I say use tape, carefully!!! And DO NOT use brake fluid, I dont know why some one would say to use brake to take off a decal. You can use use brake fluid to strip the paint.
