i love the look…love it so much I wanna MARRY IT !! [ht]

Please pray tell how you would go about it?? BE as detailed as you could…appreciate it . THANKS!!!

(oh by the way, no mention of ARTIST OILS–please !!! LOL, just don’t have $$ for that stuff !! [:(((] )

I’d do the base coat then white wash/hair spray. Plenty of tutes on here or google on the hairspray white wash (never done it myself)

Bill had an article featured a few issues back. (Can’t remember which on it was though).

Here’s a link to the build/tutoral on his website:

I do like to the look of that scheme, also the look of the tank with out the skirts. I might have to look this one up and add it to my collection. Good luck on the paint scheme, and can’t wait to see it.

what supplies do you have?

It looks like a dark yellow base with a fairly solid white-wash.

Typical IV with winter whitewash. Use the box art and paint what you see.

Then i dont think you’re looking in the right place for oils… I dont think you could effectively recreate this look without oils. Most artist’s oils are like $5-8 per tube that will last you years. And you really only need 3 or 4 colors to be able to do most effects. Just get some black, white, raw umber and burnt umber and you’ll be set. Or get one of those variety boxes with the smaller tubes… Its definitely worth the investment.

Last week I got a 24 pack of oils at Hobby Lobby for about $11 after a 40% off coupon. The tubes are smaller, but it will take me 10 years to use them up. It was the ArtCreation Expression Oil Color Set. They have been working great so far as washes and on a 1/35 figure. They will have another 40% off coupon in Sunday’s paper or on their website next week.
