Thought I would share how to make scale trees because I initially couldn’t find many articles how to make them. These trees work well for 1:35 scale, look nice in dioramas. You’ll need seafoam, CA glue and moss texture from ak interactive.
Below is the seafoam that I used.
to start you’ll need to find a piece with a lot of twigs/branches coming out. as below
Then your gonna need to chop of the foam itself, so it is just a twig.
Find some thicker pieces that you will use as the leafs.
Then cut those pieces up to make more leaf looking things.
Might be tricky at first, but you need to glue the leaf pieces directly to the twig, more specifically each individual branch. You may trim the branches if it looks like they go out too far.
It should look like below once you are all done glueing.
The next step is to add more texture to the leaves. I like to dip or spray the current branch parts with white glue, then cover them in AK interactive moss texture. Make sure all the existing branches are completly dry and stable before doing that. Below is what it looks like after adding the moss texture.
Final step is to paint the whole tree with a brown, then just the leafs with a green. Its alright if you get some green on the branches too, its not too noticable. Below is the finished result.
