How to dress up exposed ends of your "water" ?

So, here’s a base I’ve been working on-not necessarily a full blown diorama as it doesn’t really tell a story but rather just provides context to my model Jeep. Anyway, it includes a section of irrigation ditch created here with Enviro Tex Lite. I’ve included a pic of each end of the vignette/base to show what happened. My “water” seeped through the tape I’d used to contain it, and kind of morphed into a solid mass of tape and resin. My question is, how to best fix it or dress it up so it’s less noticeable. I was thinking of just grinding it down with a Dremel so it’s flush, then painting it to blend in. Anyone got other thoughts?

Here’s the other side:

I think you plan is a good fix, and BTW, that looks just fantastic. What a good looking scene !!

Thanks! In a few days I’ll be posting up the finished project. It’ll look pretty good I think. Hopefully I can work on it later tonight and see what happens with those ends.
