How many of the Trumpeter 1/35 T-62 will you buy when it comes out??

i already placed 6 on pre-Order with my LHS…can’t wait for early october when its released.

i hear its going to shame the one Tamiya has …i pray so, for a list price if $45-50!!!

SO how about you??..how many will you get??

BTW…anyone got pics of their built Tamiya T-62 they like to share??? THAT’D BE COOL…

Wow… 6 kits? That’s alot. The most I had is 4 Tiger Is that I’m going to construct simutaneously. Even that, all 4 Tigers are from different manufacturers and different versions. I was planning to make 3 Dioramas out of it based on the story of Michael Wittman.

What are you going to do with all 6 of those T-62s? I do love the muscular looking of the tank, and all those small little gadgets and stowages all over the tank.

I would wait and see before I pre-order any Trumpeter kit. Their history with accuracy is extremely hit -or-miss. They have some lovely kits (KV-series) and many, many kits that are just not worth the effort to correct them.

None… I like the Tamiya… I’ll dig up a pic later… Been totin’ one around that I built in 1986…

Maybe one. The test shots of it look really good. Definitely not 6 though.

Hans, I know you like Tamiya and all, but their old one is a real dog. You should try some of the newer kits and you may be impressed.

Why would you even consider buying 6 until you actually lay your hands on one? My guess is that they won’t sell out that quickly and then be discontinued…I will be placing a pre-order of zero…Why don’t you buy one, then when it comes and you love and want to marry it, buy 5 more…

If they drop the price by about $20, I would consider more than one. At least one of each type they will release. But at almost $50 a pop, I will have to wait till I can find one on sale to get the early variant.

My Tamiya T-62s are both over 25 years old and not much to look at these days…

Can’t see buying more than 1 or 2. perhaps a dozen or more if it comes with Polish markings. Seriously I’ve built the ancient, arthritic, Tamiya model which looks kinda like a T-62 but I’ll wait until I see a review or two before buying a Trumpeter. RickM

preordering: zero

Heh… Reckon so, but I only build dioramas and the WARPAC junk Armor just doesn’t fare well in those… Dropping 50-60 bucks on a kit (even if I were so inclined) just isn’t fiscally responsible when it’s gonna get scribed in a few choice places and then get whacked wit’ a hammer…

The main problem with the Tamiya kit is the turret being shaped wrong, and that’s not an issue when it’s modeled with a catastrophic turret separation… Besides, there’s plenty of the T-62 resin turrets still out there…

As for being a dog, well… I dunno… It looks like a T-62 to me, man…[;)] The track sag’s a breeze with a piece of black thread… Plus, I absolutely despise link & length or indy tracks and the Tamiya ones are detailed on both inside and out, so… Thrown tracks are little tricky, but insect mounting pins and some patience take care of that little issue… And since there’s nothing inside it but the battery racks, well… No school like Old School, ya know… Especially at 21.00 bucks a copy (Before Coupon, that is)…

I like this thread, reading HVH he’s a man who knows what he wants and is going to stick with it. It’s got to be 20 years since I done a Tamiya T62 and I did enjoy the kit. As for the new trumpy release I would be cautious, I have worked on several of their kits and while their subject choices are just great, sometimes the quailty of what is in the box can be slighty questionable. I think I just mean that the quality is just not there with Dragon or Tamiya, but since the early days they have improved.[2c]

Terry.

I wait till I either win the kit in a contest raffle or get it 40% off at Hobby lobby. Other then that I refuse to spend $50 or more on a 1/35 scale armor kit.

I have not build a tank in about three years since I build the Tamiya 1/35 Panther G late. I tend to side with Hans. In the early 80’s Tamiya was the armor king and I build one of just about every German WWII tank they made. I have a soft spot for them. I still have about 8 of them that I build back in the 80’s and they still look good to me. As stated Trumpeter is hit or miss with alot more missing than hitting with their kits. At the prices that they ask these kits should not have all of the horrible mistakes that they do along with their knack for placing ejector pins in all of the worst places. I would definetly wait and let someone else to a build review on any Trumpeter kit before I put my hard earned money down. Just my[2c]
