How many dads received models for Fathers Day

My wife knocked my socks off with an Academy C-97A Stratofreighter in 1/72 scale (She also gave me a new pair of socks and some duct-tape). Hope other dads received model related gifts as well. This is a great hobby.

I did! My daughter of 13 got me a Revell Panther, while my wife told me I could get the 1/32 Hunter from Revell (which I just got). More coming up soon as my birthday is just around the corner!

I got Trumpeter MiG 19S!

Well-- since I didn’t know that the wife was buying that display case, I ordered myself a 1:48 scale Devastator and entered three other ebay auctions which I won LOL-- a Catalina, a German pilot and ground equipment set, and a A-M SBD-1 that was started and I am going to remove the paint and redo

You got the lot, Jeeves. Good deal!

I got the Academy 1/72 B-29 Bock’s Car. It’ll look good alongside the Enola Gay. - Ed

You lucky little weasels!!! All i got were three cards and a day full of DIY, laying heavy duty paving slabs in the back yard. The way i figure it my missus had better read this thread and then go get buying. see y’all … Gregers

Well, I didn’t get any models for Father’s Day but my wife did do some…ahem…“modelling” of her own last night.[;)]

I mentioned it would be nice of the kids, both over 20, to get me the Academy 1/32 F-18C and they ended up getting it and the MRC UH-1C Shark. I was in the 174th AHC and plan to build several of our birds.

Heylonghair, we got that too. But we got scale models on top of that! LOL

I’m not a Dad yet so I didn’t get any models yesterday, but I built my Dad a diorama which included a M-113 like the one his unit had in Vietnam.

Almost on point with the topic.

I posted in the Armor forum but, I also received a 1/48 Tamiya Me262-A-2a W / Kettenkraftrad from my 2 year old [:D] Along with 2 Tamiya German armor kits.

Technically, no. Two of of my kids left their projects at school and the third gave me some nice bbq equipment. I kind of pre-bought a Pz III and told my wife it was from her. For myself, I purchased Trumpeters M1A2, after waiting for weeks. I was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews from you guys, but was pleased nonetheless. If I screw up, it was only $20! Likewise, my wife did a little detailing of her own!

Lucky gits! The only real joy I received on Father’s Day was being able to finish the cockpit on my A-10. In fact, the only mention made was when my 3 year old daughter came in and said, “Happy Father’s Day, Scott.” How sad is that?

I am glad to hear that others made off like bandits… Think I’ll go cry now.

No kits, but something just as good - a gift certificate to my favorite hobby shop!! [:D]

Unfortunately however, the wife didn’t see fit to do any “modelling” of her own. [:(] Oh, well. . .

I got a aztek A4709 airbrush set, that was after a trip to the hobby store for what ever kits I wanted. That also follows the Missus buying me a Traxxas T-MAXX r/c truck. dang was this a good year.
