How is Minicraft's Spruce Goose?

Hi gang! I’ve been eyeing up Hobbycraft’s Spruce Goose (1/144 or 1/200???) specifically the one in the hypothetical TWA marking with the “Chroma Cal” decals. I’ve never heard of such a thing. Is anyone familiar with this kit? How is it? What are those Chroma Cals? I thought it would be a neat shiny plane to put in my daughter’s room. Thanks for any advice! Eric

It is 1/200th scale, and was I think an Entex kit originally. I liked building mine which was in an Academy Minicraft boxing. Here it is:

Thank you for the response John. What a great job you did on your Spruce Goose! I realized several hours after posting my question that I meant to say “Minicraft”, not “Hobbycraft.” Perhaps that is why such a low response level. With Hobby Lobby’s 40% off coupon I suppose I’ll pick one up and make it my Christmas gift to myself. Thank you again! Eric

You’re welcome Eric, and thank you for your nice comments. Have fun building yours, but be careful working with all those toothpick propblades. Very easy to snap off. I used Model Master aluminum with some white added to get the color of silver dope for the finish.
