for me, i found it at my local supermarket.
Don’t remember how I found it - but still have it - Vol 1, No 1
I found it at the book store, in the magazine rack in front. I’ve picked up a few other ones, but it’s still my favorite magazine.

Hobby store was where I first started getting them.
Local Hobby Shop here.

Local hobby shop here as well.
WOW. Vol. 1 No.1
What was that like, and when did it come out?
Found it on a newstand on Cape Cod while on vacation back in 1987, and I still have that issue. It featured an article on 1/700 scale ships which I was obsessed with at the time. After reading it I subscribed immediately! And it’s still the best thing I find in my mailbox (well, after a tax refund, that is!)

I found the forum first. Was while I was laid up the first time and looked up on the shelf and saw an old model and thought I would search around and see what the internet had on them. This was the first place that popped up and just so happened I stumbled into the armor forum and got hooked.
The mag I get from a bookshop, the forum site I was invited to join by a friend.

It wil generate armorama.com and FSM. Ive choiced FSM by heart. Never tried the another one
I hope not to be wrong [;)]
I first saw FSM in a newstand sometime in 1993. I had just returned to building after a 25 year or so absence. The hobby had changed so much. I needed the information (resin? photo etch?) and mail-order phone numbers. No hobby shops around here, and I don’t drive (HATE cars !)
Local hobby shop. I subscribed, dropped it for awhile and have been a consistant subscriber for many years now.
The local hobby shop for me many moons ago!!
FSM and I entered the modeling world at about the same time, back in the early 80’s. I had been building for a year or so and had just joined a club when FSM first came out.
My Dad and I (I was about 10 or so) used to hang out at one of the local shops with the club crowd every Saturday morning and were able to get our hands on the very first pilot ish of FSM. Not Vol.1 #1, but the first feeler ish they sent out. (The rags with all the blank spaces where the ads will go.)
Anyhoo, I have every ish of FSM up until late 2003.
Fade to Black…
