I’m proposing an update to our club logo, and one of the major obstacles is the cost. It would be around $400 or so from designing to actual printing on shirts or other promotional items.
I’m wondering how other clubs raise extra funds (beyond that raised by contests) to cover endeavors such as this. Anyone got any advice? Much appreciated.

Membership dues, and twice yearly auctions. Auction items are donated by club members. We also have raffles with items donated by one or more local shops. $1 per raffle ticket…
Our club hs a yearly show which we just had in April which we did very well with.Also dues are $25 a year which is well worth it. We also had shirts made up for some o the shows and regionals we did. The club gives back to the members way more than what we pay in dues though.

The clubs I am in use dues as basic funds, but do have other incomes. On things like caps, T-shirts, etc most of the clubs try to break even on those items, pricing them to cover all expenses. Fortunately, one of the clubs has a couple of pro commercial artists that help with those kind of costs. Additionally, the clubs have both internal auctions and have auctions at big meets which often more than break even.

I’m new here and just got into modeling. But I do know a few things about fundraising from coaching high school sports. My biggest one is the goodwill drives. Go to your local goodwill and ask about a collection drive. You select a date and they send out a truck with 18 bins aboard. Bins are 6ft high, 3 ft long, and 2 ft wide. Each bin you fill nets you fifty dollars. The key is pre-collection. It works with small numbers too. I have 15 kids on my water polo team and we made close to 2 grand with this fundraiser. I host a bbq and car wash at the same time and that brings the community into the mix and then people see the goodwill truck and just start dropping stuff off. Couple that with going to yard sales and asking them to donate what they don’t sell and you can make some serious money. I would suggest possibly coupling a bbq and an auction with the fundraiser. Just an idea. Good luck raising funds, it certainly isn’t easy but it can be necessary.

A lot of restaurants will do deals with clubs/organizations that can net you a few hundred dollars. What will happen is the food place will give you a date and a flyer. You make copies of the flyer and pass them out. On your day people take the flyers to the food place. When they order their receipt is set aside. At the end of the day the receipts are added and the club is given a % of the sales, usually between 10 and 30%. I know panda express offers this as does most chains and pizza places. This is a good one if you have a big club, but it requires you to spend money.
