I just want to make sure i know how to use the stuff before i apply it to anything. I want to polish a car body, and i’ll be spraing a coat of clear before i do this…
So, what exactly should I be doing? someone said too much will eat away at the paint, and too little will give it a dull finnish, and it’s freaking me out!
You use it similar to a wax:
Apply to soft cloth and gently rub it on, too make pressure will rub the paint off.
Which grade did you get, or haven’t the new grades reached your area yet.
I normally use Top Compound 2000 (same as grid 2000 Sandpaper) and finish with the modeling wax.
It just says polishine “compound” it… Everything elese is in japanese! [:)] Hang on, it says item 87021 on it. what this refers to i have no idea… So, i sort of “wax on, wax off” ala karate kid, huh? Thanks for the reply, MMF!
Ok, that is the old one. About 1 month ago they released new ones rated coarse, fine and finish.
The old Compound is rough and care needs to be taken when using it.
My advise would be NOT to use it for the current project and rather get a finishing or similar compound.
Alternatively you could use a finishing/polishing cloth or similar, not sure what is available your side hence no names/brands mentioned.
