Guys.
How do you backdate Tamiya’s AD-1 Skyraider to the Korean War???
Any good articles around somewhere?
I found this one some one did for Modeling Madness:
Lovely! Thank you very much Aurora-7. Now, if I only had a printer.
The CMK aftermarket detail set has the cockpit, wheel wells, dive brakes, and a few other detail parts. The Cutting Edge Modelworks aftermarket supplier has a Skyraider non-armour conversion set to backdate the Tamiya kit to an AD-3 or AD-4, and an AD-4N. The kit, no. 48119, is $29.00 US.
Cutting Edge also has a Wing fold conversion set for $24.00 US, a Cockpit Super Detail set for $19.00 US, and a set of correct prop blades for $7.00 US.
The Cutting Edge stuff is nice but expensive. If you do a Tamiya kit with a backdate set, wing fold set, prop blades, and cockpit and other details set, add decals and paint, and you have a model that will be about $100.00 US when completed! But hey, it’s a hobby and who’s keeping track? rangerj
