ok trying to apply decals to hand painted NM finish {silver or chrome} . Before I start with the decals, do I apply a coat of Furture or just wait till I put the decals on???[:D][:D]

Future first you want the decals transfered on a smooth surface! It self levels to give you a really smooth surface for decals to surrender on.[:D]
Fisrt you must apply a coat or gloss varnish, then apply decals and finally a coat of matt varnish.
Check out Swanny’s sticky on Future in the Tools and Techniques forums. It’s a good reference and should help you.
Glen S;
it depends; if the NM finish has a glossy or flat appearance to it, if glossy you could apply the decals directly on the NM finish but I recommend you also trim the clear edges off the decals so it reduces the chance of silvering and then leave it alone DO NOT APPLY CLEAR COATS this will flatten the Glossy appearance the NM finish has, if the NM finish has a flat appearance to it then apply a gloss clear coat only to the areas that the decals will be applied to then apply the decals like stated before and still don’t apply any clear coats, NM finishes on real aircraft don’t have clear coats over then so why should yours, and it doesn’t matter if the NM finish is hand painted or airbrushed or plated or foiled you really don’t need a gloss clear coat for the decals
