I had help from VanceCrozier, a frequent poster herein.
Step 1 — set up an account with a place like Photobucket. There’s other services but this is the one a lot of folks use.
Step 2 — upload your pictures to your account/album.
Step 3 — (This works best if you open 2 windows — 1 in FSM and 1 in Photo-bucket, et al) Go to the Photobucket window and highlight and copy the “Direct Link” address. Go to the FSM widow containing your unfinished posting. Go to the menu bar above your post, click on the icon that looks like a film strip. Paste the Direct Link address into the appropriate space. Then hit insert.
If this sounds elementary, I apologize. But I couldn’t have figured it on my own without assistance. I’m sure others can, but not me. Give it a try.
I’ve been able to upload to Photobucket but still can’t send photo to the test forum.
Okay, I’ll admit that I was a rocket scientist (aerospace engineer, really), but it’s not that hard, really, I promise. (There are several ways to do this. Just follow the sound of my voice…)
You say that you’ve been able to upload one or more photos (the green lozenge in Photobucket), you’re halfway there…
Go to the Photobucket Album page and click on the thumbnail. This brings up a viewing window.
In another tab/window, fire-up the FSM forum composition panel you want to post into. Compose. When you’re ready to insert your photo…
Go back to the Photobucket tab. Highlight the SECOND entry (the Direct Link button). Do NOT do anything that disturbs the copy buffer.
Once again, go to the FSM post-in-progress. On the SECOND tier of the message control bar, the TWELFTH icon, the aqua-colored one that looks like a swatch of film (you remember film? But I digress…) It says ‘Insert Media’… CLICK IT.
Another panel opens! You’re almost there…
‘Send’ (Ctrl-V) the URL you copied from Photobucket four steps back. The ‘Insert Media’ panel closes and your image is inserted, like this…

THAT’S IT! The rest is just the fiddly bits & formatting,
which I know you already know.
Here. I wrote a how-to a few months back covering both Photobucket and Flickr.
Thanks to all who gave me advice. I printed out your arcticle Doog so that I can reference it each time I have a senior moment.[:D]
OK, you have the baby the next time someone asks. (You’d think, [AARON] that this [AARON] should find its way [AARON] into a FAQ .)
