how do I clean the tamiya zimmerit tool?

Hey fellas,

I just used my new tamiya zimmerit tool thing and after a couple of swipes it got really clogged up with putty and it will not come off. How do I clean it and keep it clean while I use it? Do I coat it with some sort of oil to keep the putty from sticking to it??

I recently did a Panther with their zimm tools, and was able to kep them fairly clean by keeping a a damp towel handy and wiping them off periodically. For permanent cleanup after a zimming session, I would do a more thorough job of wiping off the tools. And for the putty caught in the teeth, I woul take anothe zimm tool with the same tooth width and comb its teeth through the teeth of the gunky tool.

I soak mine in Lacquer Thinner after using.

Like was said before, a paper towel with some solvent works wonders while working your zim.
