I know I’ve seen this question in the forum before, but I can’t find it. I want to attach a photo; I’ve tried cutting/pasting, but this didn’t work. I would appreciate any help you can give me.

You must access your ISP’s FTP (File Transfer Protocol). Contact them and ask for their FTP settings… then go download a program called “WSFTP”, it’s free, enter the settings, and you’ll be presented with two windows; “Local” (on the left, which represents the files on YOUR computer), and “Remote” (on the right, which represents your files that have been transferred to your ISP server) Highlite the file you want transferred on the “Local” side, then click the arrow in the center that points to the “Remote” side… the program will make a noise, and that file will appear on the Remote side.
Your ISP will give you a “URL” (Uniform Resource Locator ), which is basically a Web Address. Lets say you have a picture in one of your files (recommend you create picture folders, if you haven’t already done so) called jet1.jpg, and you want to display it on a post… you will enter the URL, followed by a forward slash and the picture name in the text window, like this: http://yourURL.com/jet1.jpg , then Highlight it. Now, look at the icons at the top of the FSM text window, you’ll see one that looks like a “world with a chain link beside it”… move your curser over it and it will say; “Insert Hyperlink”. Click on that icon, and it will put the neccesary HTML commands at the front and rear of the URL pathway automatically.
If you find a picture on some other site, you can enter their URL for said picture, and post it as the hyperlink… but if whoever owns that photo decides to move it or delete it from their server, the picture on your post will no longer appear.

rather than going through the buisness of info oldhooker gave you Ive found its easier to create a website and post the link. Ive had good success with a site called www.81x.com its free to use w/ restrictions. Here a site I put togther http://www.81x.com/Awood23/Smithsonian and you can always change the pics. Not trying to sharp shoot the info that oldhooker gave you, its great there’s people willing to take the time to explain such things… I just found this easier.
