How can you bend toes on feet for crouching poses?

Hey, I have a question. I have tried before to no avail, how can you bend the toes of a figure’s foot to make it more so they are bent as if crouching. I have tried to boil the figure’s foot in water for a few seconds and bend it but it never works…

Make a couple of cuts with a razor saw, then apply liquid cement liberally. As it softens, bend. Let it sit undisturbed until completely dry. For bending toes up as for crouching, make cuts on TOP of foot.

You may need to add a little filler/putty after it sets, but it shouldn’t take much.

Thanks Don, I didnt think of that. That is going to save me from having to destroy a perfectly good figure kit for it’s foot

Making wedge cuts at the joints is pretty much the best way for all joints… Like Don says, cut on the inside of the bend…

Took a few tries and some ruined feet before I did it on the feet I wanted to use but It worked finally.

Thanks for the tips.

Now all I have to do is resculpt the details on the clothes… Tedious and time consuming but fun.

Here is a question, I recently have been finding tinfoil useful for scratching things like feathers, and small details. Think its better to use tinfoil for things like clothing details to keep it thin?

Ill show a finished WIP once this project is done as well, dun wana put up another unfinished. I think you guys will be happy with what I have done

I used tin foil to replace the cloth backing to the seat on a blackhawk. It works, but I applied a coat of gap-filling-superglue to the back and hit it with accelerator to make sure it stays int he pose I want. But yupper, it works.

I made a bedroll for the figure im scratch out of it. the crinkles made for some really realistic folds in it and some deep crevices that came out amazing when painted.

I use tissue paper soaked with a mix of white glue and water. You can stick the paper down pretty well, and make folds that will hold up to light handling, and it already has some cloth-like pattern in it. I’ve done that for the flight suit on the ‘Freddy Flameout’ pilot, and a folded top on Sd.Kfz.7, among others.
