Houston, we have an F-15 problem

So as this is the place to find some of the best in the world, ive joined to enjoy everyones opinions and tips! Hopefully my first post doesnt sound too cheesy!

My problem is that i have just recently completed a revell-monogram 1:48 F-15C with Kadena AB(ZZ) markings. I detailed is as best i could for a fairly new modeler(ill put pics up soon if you all would like to see). My wife was re-arganizing the basement(big oops on my behalf), and she bumped my modeling table which in turn caused the front nose gear to break off. And my Jack russel thought the wheel assembly was lunch. Is there anywhere i can go to get a new nose gear assembly for this? Or can you guys give me some tips on what i should do to “play it off” and still make it look as life-like as i think it is? Thanks in advance, and hopefully ill thoroughly enjoy this forum.

John, First off, welcome to the forum! Secondly, sorry to hear about the nose gear incident. Hopefully you’ve spoken to your terrier and your wife about being more careful. LOL! Whenever my wife dusts I always hear a “clink” and I know she’s waiting to get yelled at. I know she knows I hear when something like that happens so I always run to yell at her but always in a joking manner. She always turns it around and accuses me of having selective hearing. LOL! As far as the nose gear is concerned, often times the kit manufacturer is pretty good at replacing a broken or missing part. I’ve heard at times that they might make you pay a couple of bucks but I’ve never had to do that. Otherwise, sometimes someone here in the forum might have what you’re looking for in their spares box. I work on WW2 U.S. planes so I’m afraid I don’t have an F-15 part on hand. Can anyone else help John out? Thanks! Eric

John, I think that I have a nose wheel and assembly for the F-15C Let me check. I will get back to you. Richard

Awesome, i guess this place really is the place to go lol! Id be more than appreciative if you had that part! I thought of making a jack stand from spare plastic… but that didnt turn out too well, so with that said… im still open to ideas or if anyone has the part i can get!

I am amazed sometimes at the progress I’ve made in just a few months
of being here. And there are lots of great folks too. Try joining a Group
Build sometime, I highly recommend.

Cheers!
