Just thought I’d drop a line and introduce myself. My name’s Adam Howard, and I live and work in Indianapolis, IN. My interests are racing (naturally), reading, model building, and video games. My favorite modelling subjects are primarily cars, though I only have about eight finished models and eighty unfinished ones!
I started building model cars when i was about ten years old, mainly because my uncle built them, and you could still get them cheap at the corner drugstore. The main thing I remember about my early modeling days was that I knew little about cars beyond the fact that muscle was cool, and I knew even less about modelling! I do have a good memory of a model I actually completed, though; a sixty-something GTO with the rear wheel openings radiused to build it in the drag racer configuration. I was pretty proud of it, but looking back, that was mainly because I had actually finished it!
Well, you may be wondering why i’m here at Finescale instead of SAE? The answer is that, while my skills have increased since I took up the hobby again after marriage (ya gotta have some escape! [:D] ), I am amazed by the work i see in FSM each month. Hopefully, I can learn a little more here.
Sorry if I seem to ramble, but if you ever happen to visit any racing simulation forums, you’ll know that I’m equally verbose there, once I bestir myself from my lurking caverns.
Hey Adam! I’m new here myself & would like to model whatever looks good.Preferably something easy & simple to keep my fragile ego excited about modeling.I’ve started on planes for a couple reasons,I did time on a Carrier(CVN 69),& I work at Rolls-Royce/Indy.The tool lust about most is an airbrush&compressor.(or that cool PE brake). My first model was an AMC Gremlin dragster. So Hey Adam! Stockup on some models to getcha through the Hoosier winter.
