Ok Thanks Wayne
Ok, been haveing a think today. I am going to do a couple of small builds that i can do inbetween my others. Then if i can catch up, i will trow in a bigger one later on. So, put me down for a 70mm Stormtrooper from Knight Models. And, your going to love this, a 1/72nd Imperial Probe Droid from Retro SF. This thing is tiny.
I was lloking at it online Bish. It looks tiny even in the picstures LOL
I think I have the Cast and Players updated. If I missed andthing or have anything wrong, Please let me know
I’ll get some pics up at the weekend. I have had it a couple of years now, so glad of the chance to build it.
Ken:
Well, with some hesitation, you can put me down also. I have a 1/650th scale “USS Enterprise” from Star Trek I’ve been meaning to put together (nostalgia, as I had one back in 1968). Perhaps this will give me the incentive to put her together.
“Cap’n! She canna take much more!”
Gary - The cast is updated and You’re in. Glad to have you aboard!
This looks like a fun GB .
About three years ago I wanted to build a fleet of Air America aircraft and put together a few helicopters and a couple of fixed wing birds . However I wasn’t happy with my efforts and scrapped all the helicopter builds and the only aircraft to survive was the 1/72 Mach 2 C-123B Provider .
I’ve since decided to use the kit decals on this first C-123 build and finish it as an early USAF Vietnam War hauler .
This past Christmas my brother gave me the DVD Air America movie with Mel and Rob
So I’ll go with a fresh Mach 2 C-123 Provider for Air America . I found a site which has some nice stills from the film of different helicopters and aircraft ;
http://www.impdb.org/index.php?title=Air_America
I’ll use this image as inspiration for my build
The May starting date suits me , unfortunately I slipped going down some stairs a couple of weeks ago and badly sprained my wrist and bruised my elbow . Thankfully nothing was broken but my arm did sweal up quite a bit and I haven’t been able to do any scale modelling for the past two and a half weeks … I’m now having serious plastic model with drawl symptoms . Anyway I’ll watch the movie this weekend and see what other aircraft made it into the film .
John .
Welcome Aboard Helo H-34 The Cast is updated.
Hope you get to feeling better
Ken:
Try this on for size. It’s a small version for review.[:)]
On the other hand, maybe I’ll make my own… LOL!
Feel free to tell me how stupid this is…
Gary
Its not stupid, I may not be one, but there are a lot of trekkies out there and in here. This way, everyone can have a choice of the badges. All you need now is the starting and ending dates.
Thank you for making up yours and helping with my badges. They both look good.
Nice work on the badges Gary. And if anyone says its stupid, they can tell it to the Klingon’s.
Ken, i know its common practice, especially lately, but the badges doesn’t have to have the date on it. They could just stay like that.

Bish - Oh okay, I thought they needed the dates.
Gary - Forget the dates LOL And yes nice work on the badges Thank you I sat here for over 3 hours the other night trying to figure that out. Then I said " %&%$% it! and went to bed [:S]
Yea I like that idea, tell it to the Kingons [:D] [8-|]
Qapla’ !
Thanks, guys. These are just preliminary, and I didn’t mean for the Star Trek picture to be used as the group badge. I just had this image lying around, and since I was planning on building the Enterprise… [^o)]
Please make any suggestions about the Group Badge. Looking at Greentracker’s original image, I think I may put some space onto the image to place the title, as it now covers over Monroe’s cleavage! [:P]
Actually, if you have any images or suggestions that might make a Group Badge, now’s the time to put it forward. Any classic Hollywood image might do, such as an Oscar.
I have an idea about an image of Jedd Clampett from “The Beverly Hillbillies” saying “Wheee Doggie”. [clwn]
Gary
PS> “Hooray” is misspelled. [:@]
just goofing before heading to the bunker. started rereading THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER last night and remembered how exciting it was and all the anticipation. the first techno-thriller and the first (or second) novel published by USNI. makes me want to pull out HARPOON and start killing sovietskis in the north atlantic. RED STORM RISING is also a great read from the time.
Waynec,
Nice one! I was thinking if anyone wanted a “special” group badge you could slap the “brass plate” (see image of Hollywood above) on an image and create your own.
I’ll try to update the Group Badge images tonight (when I’m not spray painting) and maybe make some new ones for people to consider. I need to find a film frame…
Gary
hi gary
i like the idea of using the brass tag and folks having a special background related to their build. maybe we have a “base” file and folks who want a special background can send you or i the photo file and we can build it for them. i used to do this with banners over at matrix games. plenty of flim strip graphics out there to choose from as a base.
i just finished cutting off all 4 hinges for the front doors on my truck, sanding, repositioning them, (instructions were vague) and attaching hinges and doors. tonight i will mask the windows and repaint that area. maybe i’ll get the truck finished this weekend. sure learned a lot and have 14 more in the stash.
