Homemade Decals

I know this topic appeared quite some time ago, but I can’t find it. Is it possible to make decals with an inkjet printer? The decal film I saw in the shop did not seem to encourage anything other than a laser printer. I often see photos of A/C that would make great subjects but there are no correct markings for them that are available anywhere. I could scan the photos and prepare them with an editing program, but then what?

Testors makes a nice little package availible at Wal Mart for about $6 that includes limited software, a half sheet of white and a half sheet of clear film along with a can of fixative - works very nicely.

Do a search for decals. They have inkjet and laser varieties. The inkjet decals require a fixitve, which they also sell, to keep the ink from dissolving in water.
