My name’s Eric and I’ve recently become interested in a hobby I loved as a kid. It came about during the idle time I found myself during the last hurricane season…we had Frances and Jeanne pass directly overhead! I picked up a couple of tank models on a lark and found myself fascinated by how well model making dovetailed with my life long interest in history. I also found it to be a great stress reliever after pulling a 12 hour rotation in the ICU (I’m a respiratory student coming up on my final semester).
I love the WWII warbirds and armor and I can certainly see getting into building dioramas.
Also, I read about the modeling club in Afghanistan (or was it Iraq?) and I’m interested in sending our soldiers over there some kits. Can someone tell me where to send those and what would interest them? I’m thinking something along the lines of modern armored vehicles…possibly an Abrams, or Bradley FV kit. The address and any suggestions on kits would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome to the forums Eric. I’m not able to help you with your question about where to send the kits, but keep checking your post and someone may have an answer for you.[#welcome]
Hey Eric from a former Snot Sucker (I was a Respiratory Therapist before I broke my wrist and had it fused) good luck to you in your future career and welcome to the forums!!!
I mean that from the bottom of my alveoli, to the top of my carina!!
All right, Woody, thanks for that link, man!..and tho9900, sorry about that wrist…BTW, after today’s clinical rotation, I really do believe that a COPDer actually can cough up their own body weight in secretions in a year![;)]
hmm I was thinking more like a week! wait till you visit the CF ward! Good luck to ya!!! It’s really a good field if ya make it that way for ya… lot’s of change and if ya can stay off the wards passing treatments day in day out it will never get boring!!!
