HobbyBoss Arizona 1/700 wip

Try to start my first wip here , not so expert on building ships , i finished only 3 ships till now.

If something wrong don’t exitate with some tips [:$] i’ll appreciate it!

I bought this little kit two years ago , curious about to build something from hobbyboss (when stopped my hobby for many years hobbyboss not bornrd) and especially for lower price [whstl] , i hope this ship does not represents the hobbyboss standard!

During building i lost one propeller … not so simple to replace

Then the actual progress of the disaster

I’ll use this ship as school to learn more about ships building before to continue more expensive kits on my stash [A]

Please give some critics on

I haven’t done a ship in years, and it was pretty basic at that when I did. I do have this one in the stash though, so I will be watching. [:)]

This kit is so basic it doesn’t even have the dreaded “Aztec stairs”, it has Aztec slides instead. [:|]

me too, this is the first from no less than 10-15 years. Kit is too basic and fits are no good, instruction are not clear, some piece simply don’t know were to put [blkeye] i’ll use just to acquire experience on ships kits

what are aztec stairs?

nice work.

Ron

“Aztec stairs” is a somewhat derisive term used to describe steps/stairs moulded with a solid block underneath, resembling steps in an Aztec temple (use your imagination [:)]), hence the term. They are frequently seen on 1/700 scale ship kits, especially older ones.

On this particular kit, they haven’t even bothered to mould the steps in, just angled wedges representing where the stairways should be. Look at the step where the main deck and after-deck meet. You’ll see a couple of wedges there from the higher deck down to the lower deck level - these should actually be (doubled) stairs. If you continue inboard at the step line, You will see two small platforms either side of the T-shaped hole with similar wedges going down to deck level. I believe these should also be stairs.

thanx for comments

ok on atzec staies [H] need to take some picture of the 720 hood from italeri , her beat on details all the ships i have (even academy bismark 1/350 and yamato 1/450!) as i see on the hood 1/350 wip in this section the little one seems have all [8-|]

Montezuma’s Molded Revenge!

The still beating hearts of the mold designers have been cut from their chests and sacrificed to the AM / PE gods of deliverance![:XX]

LOL i hope so for hobbyboss [H]

That kit is a piece of junk. The Dragon kit by comparison is one of the best.
