HobbyBoss 1/72 Seahawk Mk.100/101

Hell Chaps,

I haven’t posted anything since April 2016, due to buying a new home, packing, moving in on may 7th, unpacking and settling in. My wife and I are still working on the house and I still have to build my new man-cave, which means there is no airbrushing for me until that is done. Well, after 6 months of not touching styrene, I was getting severe withdrawals and the only option I had was to brush paint at the dining table.

My first “Hairy Stick” adventure was in November, 2016, and since then, I have completed 6 builds using the “old-school” method. I’ve decided to paint 1/72 scale while using brushes because there is less surface area to cover compared to the 1/32 scale I prefer to build. This was my first adventure with the bristled wands that I completed in November, 2016- the HobbyBoss 1/72 Seahawk Mk.100/101. Not a bad little kit with decent tub details for this scale; I added seat belts made out of foil from the top of a wine bottle and the rest was OOB.

My aplogies for not having posted build updates for my latest 6 "Hairy Stick’ adventures, but time has not been available in large lots to do so…

I do have to say though, although I never usually attempt 1/72 scale because they are a strain on my aging eyes, I have enjoyed using the “Bristled Wands!”

Thanks in advance for taking a look and commenting, much appreciated.

In the meantime, happy modeling!

Cheers,

Martin

That looks fantastic! Great job with the brushes.

Toshi

Thanks Toshi, greatly appreciated mate…I hope you’re doing well and have been posting lots of great builds in my absence?!

Cheers,

Martin

Good to see you back, and thats real nice.

I am doing well. Thank you! I’ve been posting a lot of builds. Check out the current WIP. It’s a Trumpeter 1/32 P-38 Lightning.

Toshi

Martin - Your brushing skills appear to equal your other talents, had you not said it was hand painted, I would have sworn you had fired up the VL. Beautifully done, thanks for the post and photos.

Patrick

I have this one in my stash to build soon, now I don’t know if I will, I don’t think I can ever match your painting skills on this one. Another beautiful job! Bravo!
