Greetings,
I started Hobby Boss’ M4A3E8 Sherman and the build really plodded along, till the point that I just stopped. Anyway, after months of languishing, in the “started, probably never will finish pile” I pulled it out and painted it. I then tried to put the tracks (rubber band type) on and they are way to short - at least a third of an inch… Has anyone else had this problem? Are there after market tracks for this version available? Thanks much!
I’m not familiar with the kit in question, but I assume it’s the 1/48 scale kit. There are some after market track sets out there, but I can’t speak to quality or price. I’ve stretched a set of AFV Club tracks in the past for a 1/35 sherman. Of course you’ve got to be careful and it’s a bit tedious. Obviously if you pull too hard they’ll snap and then after market tracks are about the only real option. Not much help I know.[:I]
Thanks for the reply… Yes it is the 1/48th scale kit. I really think they are too short or I did something wrong where the idler or the drive sporckets ended up too far backward/forward. Doesn’t seem like a popular kit to build and Squadron has a bunch of Hobby Boss 1/48th Shermans on sale for 10.00. I’ll look around on-line for a replacement set or just do some surgery and see how that works out. Thanks!
