Hi everyone, here is my latest build, the Hobby Boss A-7D Corsair II. I have become a real fan of Hobby Boss and Trumpeter kits since getting back in to modelling. This is OOB except for additions of scratch built seat harnesses, piece of lead wire for ejection handle on seat, some pipe and cables added in under carriage bays. I wanted a worn look so I did the camo freehand on this one. Decals set pretty good. Thanks for looking.

Nice looking sluff. The camo and decals look right on. I wonder how this kit compares to the Hasegawa A-7?
The A-7 is a work horse and you did a fantastic job on that aircraft. I have a few personal pictures of Scrappy thanks to the son of a close friend who was a member of that unit in Toledo Ohio (IIRC). The unit got their A-7s after turning in their F-100s and they now have F-16s. Note my friends son was in an ANG unit if Toledo and at one time in Mansfield OH. I think Sprappy was in Toledo, but cannot recall for sure. Anyone know for sure. I would like to make a note on the pictures I have.
Added note: Also note the red, white , and blue USAF Outstanding Unit award on the side of the aircraft.

Better, only in regards to the plastic itself. You have, pretty much, all the same options(avionics bays and whatnot). The only big difference, assembly wise, between the two is the wing/fuse joint. The Hase kit has the top wing and fuse section as one piece, where the H/B kit has separate wings. The H/B kit (as it seems with almost all H/B, Trumpy kits) has shape issues…mainly at the front end…nose, intake lip, and canopy…still looks like an A-7, but the Hase kit looks MORE like an A-7!
The only drawback to the Hase kit, is the hard, brittle plastic…and a lack of weapons(IIRC)
Thanks Fermis. Gotten pretty used to the harder Hasegawa plastic over the years. Sounds like the Hobbyboss kit doesn’t have the notorious wing/upper fuselage gap problems then?

I haven’t yet built either of the ones I have yet, but have done a couple few in 72nd, which is just a scaled down version of the 48th, but with a REALLY crappy pit.
