HMS Britannic question.

I want to build the Britannic. I know it was a sister of the Titannic. I was wondering if there is someplace that shows the changes I would have to make to a Titannic kit.

Go to the Titanic Model Research site

http://www.titanic-model.com/

They have some info on the two sisters of the Titanic, the Olympic and the Britannic.

Oh, and in her civilian guise the Britannic had the same title as her more famous sister - RMS which stands for Royal Mail Ship. HMS designates His (or Her) Majesty’s Ship - and is applied to warships of the Royal Navy. The Britannic was enrolled as a naval hosptial ship during WWI and as such was given the title HMHS - His Majesty’s Hospital Ship.

Try the Titanic Research and Modeling Association web site. They might have the changes that were made. I think there are two different ways to show the Britanic. One as a regular steamer (RMS) or the other as a hospital ship (HMHS). It seems to me there used to be a conversion set available but I don’t remember who made it.

Edit: Looks like Ed was faster on the keys than me!

Thank you for that quick responce. It’s the hospital ship that I want to do.

Here, I looked more deeply into the TMRA site. Ocean Liner Models has already done the research & heavy lifting for you. He has resin conversion parts and photoetch to convert the 1:350 RMS Titanic to HMHS Britannic.

For accuracy sake – it is not as simple as painting a Titanic model a different color and calling it a Britanic

Thanks, I went to his site he’s not offering the sets anymore.
