''High Altitude'' recon pic of airfield.

As promised here is a pic of my photobase in a birds eye view of it.
This picture was taken under failing light conditions, thats why it is so dark looking.

And another new Fw 190D pic…

Looks pretty cool.

Well done.

Thanks tweety!

After seeing that overhead shot you can see why I prefer ground level shots!
The photobase was never designed to be used in overhead pics looking down at the airfield.

Matrixone

very awesome. i can see the different scales on the field.

Very good base,i am very sad ,because i don´t have the space for doing something like that ,awsome job.
very good Fw bird I like it a lot.Keep sending.
I have a set of 1/48 figures of the AAA in my dio that I can give to you ,if you think to do a 1/48 AAA.Just say it.I order 2 by mistake.
Pedro

Thank you jay_liang_CA, and Pedro!

By next year the photobase will look a little different, I will be changing the tarmac areas, I don’t them as they are now.

Pedro,
Thank you for that offer for that AA weapon kit, but I already have some AA kits in 1/72 scale, I just need more time to build them.
I have been trying to get some Opel Blitz fuel trucks and starter carts from sources in this country, I sent my money order to one place months ago for a resin fuel truck kit and have not heard anything yet, no truck or refund.

Matrixone,

This is the site were I order the Matador Kubelwagen, the have airfield acessories in 1/72 and they are honest, with me no problem.Check this link

Hope that help you.

Pedro

Pedro,

Thank you very much for that information, when I start working on the photobase again I will need some of those vehicles.

Here is an improved picture of that Bf 109H that made a forced landing and caught fire.
I added some shadow effect on the ground from the smoke.

Matrixone

Thanks for the aerial shots of the airfield… beautiful work…Matrixone!

Regards, Dan

Dan, Thanks for the comment on the airfield pic!
The camouflage pattern on the hanger roof is copied from some wartime pictures shot be photo recon aircraft during the war of buildings painted by the Germans to confuse the bomber crews in hopes they would miss the intended targets.

Matrixone

Matrixone, I like the over head shot, Can you take a pic of your tower Im looking for some Ideas for mine.

Thad

Cool! Good thing there’s no AA fire to mess up our view!

Thanks Thad and Paul!

The rainy season is almost here in my part of the country so new pics will be few and far between, but next time I do I will take an overhead view of the control tower.

Here is another pic from last summer…

Matrixone

Thanks for the pic Matrixone any will help

Thad

Oh yeah Matrix!! [;)]

There’s nothing like eye level shots in natural light… it makes the viewer have to do a double-take!! Beautiful work, thanks!!

Take care,
Frank

Thanks very much Thad and Frank!

I have many interesting ideas for upcoming pictures that I will be trying out in a few weeks/months, but I need to start spending more time building new airplanes, painting figures, and making some more airfield buildings so I can have new things to photograph.
