My name is Steve Thorpe and i build 1:72 scale aircraft models. I am attempting to show the history of aerial warfare in model form. Due to space limitations i can only build smaller types (i.e. fighters, recon, dive bombers, and smaller twin engine types). If anyone has any surplus decals or kits etc they would be willing to donate please let me know! It is intended that the whole collection will be put on display to the public in an aviation museum when (or if!) it is completed. Any donations will recieve proper acknowledgement. I am especially keen on material relating to the more obscure aerial conflicts (Russo-Polish war 1920, Russian Revolution, Grand Chaco War etc).
If anyone is willing to help please let me know. I look forward to being part of this great community.
Welcome, Steve ![#welcome]
Your first greetings seem to be from us treadheads, but don’t worry I’m sure there are a/c people out there willing to help you.
Hi, Steve! Welcome to the forums! Obscure aerial conflicts, eh? The only one i know is the dogfight between the Philippine Army Air Corps and the IJN over manila. I think that was the only aerial battle our airforce got into during the war… Can’t help you with the kits or decals because i’m financialy challenged, myself… What kits exactly are you looking for?
Being Polish myself I would love to see your work as I take pride in my Polish Heratige , you really don’t see many kits for them . Looking forward to seeing your work , and I’ll keep an eye open for the decals .
