Hi from across the pond

Hi

I ve been modelling for around 49 years now , on and off. A mix of planes ,trains, automobiles, military & ships.

North America was always in the background;Dad was a jazz fan;family travelled to/from Canada; kids TV… I studied American history at school, and I now come over when I can.

In my early 20s I got rid of almost all of the built kits. (Tempted to get rid of that plane as it takes too much room and noone wants it? Don t! Dismantle it ! Years later you may be able to revive it) .

Despite work, family, moving a few times ,the interest still remained . I got FSM from time to time, and got the occasional kit, in spite of myself.

A BIG thanks to my understanding wife ( and son) who have bought me kits they know won t see the light of day for a while to come. Now the time has come to get going on them before lifes runway runs out !

Years ago I was more interested in minute detail. Now for me the impression matters more, but each to their own. I m really impressed by those people who do finish models to an incredible degree of accuracy . I hope to finally get something finished thats good enough to publish.

Welcome aboard, and don’t worry, you ain’t all alone from this side of the pond. And we love to see pics what ever the quality of build.

Howdy and welcome to the gfroup. All you have to remeber in the modeling hobby is if the result is what you wanted and it pleases you that’s all that counts. Again welcome, Magoo
