btw…i heard that japan is building a 1:1 replica of the Yamato to commenmorate the 60th anni of WWII.
1:1 scale??? I think you mean 1:10 scale…
There’s a beautiful 1:10 model of Yamato in Japan, I believe that it’s been recently completed at the Kure museum…here’s a photo…notice the worker on the deck…

Over on the j-aircraft message boards, there was mention of them building a section of the Yamato in 1:1 scale. Off the top of my graying head, I don’t recall which portion it was.

I’ll be heading on over to Kure next month to check out that 1/10 Yamato and the Yamato museum.
There is a 1/1 outline of the Yamato on the grounds of the museum as well.
