Hey! Just a question. Modern Aviation Modelling.

Are any companies thinking of putting out models of Spaceship One, White Knight, and the Global Flyer? Maybe even models of the other X-Prize contestants, like the Canadian Arrow? A modern space tourist vehicle designed on the V2!

Secondly,

Would anyone here ever be interested in building models of those Rutan aircraft if they were available?

They’ve added a large chapter to the records of aviation, and I personally think they’re some of the coolest aircraft to ever fly. I was just wondering what you guys thought.

-Ben.

I’m 90% sure that there is a 1/72 global flyer already out, and a 1/72 spaceship one being released soon. I can’t remember where I saw that at, but will look into it.

Unicraft models produces a 1/72 scale resin spaceship one and white knight. If you have ever tried paper or cardstock models Currel graphics makes a great 1/48 scale spaceship one,and best of all it is free as are all of Ralph Currels’ outstanding models.

Ok I found the model I was thinking of. It is the Voyager, not the global flyer, though very similar in design. You take one look at it, and it has Rutan’s name all over it. It is made by a company called Amodel (a polish company) in 1/72 and is sold by squadron here:

for $12.00.
