Hey, I got to do some modeling - finally!

Life at home and office has been so crazy over the last two weeks that I have not been able to actually work on a model. I was starting to suffer from withdraw. Today I left work early and locked myself in the model room. Here is a progress shot of my Jake. She is primed with Mr. Surfacer 1200 which will be one of the subjects of tomorrows update at http://www.SwannysModels.com

Now I can make with the deep sigh and relax.

Looking good Swanny, who makes that kit?

Can’t wait to see the final product.

The skies the limit,

Looking very nice so far Swanny! Keep us updated.

Joe

Cool Swanny… can’t wait to see that baby with some paint.

Swanny;
What scale and what make is your Jake? Been looking for one in either 1/72 or 1/48.
Steve Gorder

That looks like th Otaki 1/48 scale Jake. I have one that I built about 20 years ago

That is the 1/48 Nichimo Jake. It inhabits an odd region halfway between toy and serious model. It was designed to contain an electric motor and battery and all the control surfaces are positionable. The wings also have functional (though not scale) folding hinges. I’m using it as a testbed for Mr. Surfacer and weathering saltwater effects. And John, I think 20 years ago it was probably an old kit then!

Very nice so far.

Very nice so far Swany. Looking forward to seeing the completed project.
Cheers,
Eric

Nice work so far. That’s an old kit, but not to bad for it’s time. I think it’s still the only injection molded version in 1/48 scale.

Regards, Rick

Nice start Swanny

OOoooo…Very nice looking, as always. I will make sure and keep and eye out for updates.

And your theory for motorizing the Ju 290? It works. I need to update my sig, but five motors are in and working! Thanks again for the idea!
