hola helo guys,
Little context for ya. My new step brother who I have only met breifly twice so far was a marine medic in Iraq. He was held over when everyone else came home and basically did 2 tours. Hes back now safe and sound. I wanted to build his bird. I have his numbers and markings. He was part of the crew on a UH-60 Alpha Medic.
I need to find a kit hopefully in 1/48th so I can detail it out. Who makes a good kit for this and any pe or resin for a UH-60 Alpha?
Appreciate all the help I can get.
Jeff
Academy/Minicraft does the best 1/48 UH-60s. There is no conversion set to make it into a medevac helo. You will either have to leve the interior as a standard slick, or scratch the stretcher rack in the middle. Here is a link to an Academy/Minicraft UH-60, listed as an L, it is actually an A model. http://www.greatmodels.com/cgi/display.cgi?item_num=mc11621
Hasegawa and Italeri both make UH-60As in 1/72 as well.

As an aside, are you sure he is not Army? USMC doesn’t have medics, they are all Navy Corpsman and USMC and US Navy don’t use UH-60s as medevac helos. US Army does have their own medics and we use UH-60As for medevac.
Woodbeck3 - you can contact me via email if you would like pics and or basic plans for the carousel that is used in the UH-60A. I am working on a conversion of one of the 1/48 Academy kits, i have found that all in all it is a very accurate kit. My biggest issues with the kit are all very minor, such as incorrect shape to one of the access panels for refueling and overall lack of detail in the cockpit. The last one can be solved with any of the kits from the Cobra Company. Just type that into google and you should find it easy enough. Hope that helps!!!
Thanks for the info… he is a marine and now he has a new job though I am not sure what at the moment… hard to get in touch with him at the moment.
