Hey All

My name is Greg and I live in the outskirts of L.A.

Hobbies have included diecast and real cars. Presently own a 88 Saleen Mustang. Back about 35 years ago I used to love to build Tamiya armour models. The highlight of my youth was a Panther tank that I detailed very well including melting parts to simulate damage. Eventually the tank met the awesome firepower of the M80 and was never seen again.

I have always had a great interest in WW2 especially the German-Russian conflict. As I was collecting diecast cars I came across some Dragon Armour which got me into thinking about building models again.

I am still in the process of collecting supplies and actually found this website via a bokk on military model building. I am not sure if I want to build 1/72 or 1/35 scale. As I would like to have samples of different armour it seems cheaper to do 1/72 but the detail of 1/35 is incredible. Any feedback on this question would be welcomed.

Anyway thanks for the info I have gathered from this site all ready. I look forward to learning more.

Best Regeards,

Welcome back!

Also consider 1:48, there are a number of armor kits which also match up well with aircraft and O guage model railroading. This provides a great amount flexibity and resources for building dioramas. It also takes less display space yet retains the detail level of the larger 1:35 scale. Though there are a lot of 1:76 and 1:72 offerings, I think you’ll be please with the 1:48 offerings which continues to expand.
