Descent clips on weapons effects and battlefield effects. What do these have to do with modeling? This is a modeling site, not a site to put up whatever you like just because you think it is cool. Focus.
The video of the homemade tank is pretty cool.
Regardless of the fact that this is a modelling site, sharing something you enjoy BESIDES modelling is a good way to build a community, so kudos on that. [:)]
Further, it’s not as if his post was completely irrellevant, as there is a direct contextual link between the armor forum, and posting videos pertaining to armor.
There is an Odds and Ends section, and it might have been applicable to post the videos there.
In his defense, I think that some of these images would help alot for those who are building dioramas. The nuclear artillery one shows good detail on the gun for those who may want to model that subject. Still, you do have a good point Gino, he should focus. I can’t help but admit that I do enjoy seeing these vids though.
I would have saved the car and dumped the ammo into the looter. I hate those pathetic little 9mm’s they carry they should have 1911’s they would get more respect!
THe videos were very interesting, however i should say, as a military member, the video of the M1 vs a car looks to me to be highly illegal. Looting wood is not really looting in my book, and their attitude toward the civilians was borderline criminal. I’m sure that once that documenty was aired, some serious military lawyers took a good look at those men and i would not be suprised if some were diciplined due to it.

Taking wood is not looting in my book. I hope those soldiers got severely punished for what they did. I won’t even go into what they were doing in the country they were in because of the “no politics” rule here.
Cool clips! Yeah, posting them in the Odds and Ends forum may have been a little more appropriate, but then again, they all do have to do with armor and could be used as references. No harm, no foul I guess.
As far as the looters go, documentary makers can narrate or slant footage either way they wish. Does anyone here really know what was going on in that situation? No. So, unless you were on the scene or have been in-country, let’s ease up on the armchair-generalship.
To add to what AH1Wsnake said, there is also the possibility that the scene was staged. Possibly a dud car, a few Iraqis who were paid a few bucks each, then a bit of good ol’ American heavy metal showcasing. Don’t take it too seriously, here in Australia we believe almost nothing the docos show us.
Cheers,
John
This was on another forum, and the whole story was printed off (i’ll try to find it)
The guy was a taxi driver, and because of the fact that they crushed his car…he couldn’t work. I remember reading that the soldiers DID get disciplined, but don’t remember what the actions were.
I don’t find it funny what they did. It was wrong…no wonder why we’re facing so much hostility from many Iraqi’s
Guess next time I will post it somewhere else. I have seen other people post video clips before and they never got such a bad response. I never meant to bother any of you with the topic, just as something different. With that I won’t bother to post anymore clips that I find in here. Bryan

I do not think your post bother most of us. I enjoyed the clips very much. actually the blown up t72 give me an idea how to make blow up tanks. also " do not loot" clip inspired me to make dio out of it.
pls post if you find anything which will help modleing.
