Begin by commenting that I’ve always been attracted to the models that apply the models embodied in assembly techniques and modifications to all or part scrach.
This attraction I got the idea for my first model with this technique with partial modifications. This was in addition to armed conflicts of today and have graphics watching documentaries about the Iraq war, which saw a large number of American vehicles, so I decided on this model

In my opinion the crane was the most laborious step because I wanted to represent the controls and the crane itself was coming home quite bare.
Noticing the details of actual images of the crane manufacturer I ventured to try to replicate as close.
I used different materials, photo prints, wires, pins, cables and other miscellaneous parts and pieces of plasticard kits.
The assembly was simple, took measurements inside the box, and leaning on the actual images and placing a figure in the same box I got the measurements of the plates, also I reinforced the corners with angles and profiles U and went on to build door latches and handles with grip.
For the armament of machine guns and grenade launchers I made a media consisting of: a plate with a central pipe and bevel-shaped reinforcements.
First, I dedicated myself to ride inside the cabin. Once mounted in position presented, with the actual images and publications Hemtt, I decided to mount the turret rings using leftovers from other kits, profiles plasticard square plates.
The front shield is made rather to eye, based on the structure of Italeri. And the doors were made by obtaining a cast on tracing paper and transferred to plasticard.
At this point in modeling and is known by all the number of possible techniques and products to complete them, so I’ll summarize it a bit throughout the process.
The general basis of the truck was painted with Tamiya acrylic XF mixing airbrush-2 + X-22 + XF-57 + XF-57 into equal parts and diluted with Lacquer Thinner of the same brand.
Once dry, I applied some subtle washes of SIN P241 and P245 industries, respecting the intervals between steps, the following was a general washing umber earth Titan Oil and finish with a wash Neutral Mig Wash in specific areas.

Chipping
For the purposes of any chipped paint and rust from the same I used Humbrol enamel paints ref.32 and 100.

OXIDE IN SHIELD
Well at this point plates painted with an airbrush and Tamiya acrylics. I used the XF-1 flat black for pre-shadowed in the corners and braces, hull XF-9 XF-7 network and network to get a flat first base.
The rest of the process was a brush with acrylics Life colors and using the sponge technique and mapping.

ARMAMENT
The machine guns and grenade launchers were painted with acrylics Vallejo. For the base I used german gray (ref: 995) and light rises mainly in the corners I used a mixture between germ gray and brown cover (ref: 986).
The next step was a washed black and ending with Gun metal pigment (P231) from Mig to give a metallic effect.

Airbrushing were painted with Tamiya XF-1 as a basis and tires and paint with acrylics Life colors.
The dirt on the tires I did mixing pigments of MIG and fixed with a mixture of Pigment fixer and Mig Thinner also productions.
Very nice…Love the work on the armor plate especially the chalk writing on the front. I personally am not a big fan of chipping, especially on modern vehicle but what you have done is carried off well.
The davit crane is a PITA with all the cables and fiddly little parts needed. Your’s looks excellent. I always love the coolers and the box of Coke
Very nice work. Modern vehicles are not my thing. I really do like yours though. Oshkosh Truck is about 20-25 minutes away from where I live and I see, what I’m guessing, is them testing them out on the highway.
Fantastic model… the Oshkosh M97X Series is my favorite modern vehicle and you’ve done a wonderful job on this! Man that’s a beauty! Maybe a tad too (dark) rusty but gee, I’d sure like to have that in my display case.
