Help!

Hi guys, I painted my Avro with two black coats of primer, then paint done coat of white - it came out good. BUT I have been told that the black will blead through the white later on. Will this happen? BTW: I plan on painting two coats of white, maybe three coats.

Please advise, thanks Anthony.

Hi Anthony,

I am not sure what you are asking for? Could you explain it more please.

Jeff

I primed my Avro with two coats of black, then sprayed so far one coat of gloss white. I’ve been told that the black will mix with the white and cause it to turn grey, I want to know if this is true…

Thanks, Anthony.

I’ve never seen black bleed thru white - The color that really bleeds thru white is red - and on 1 to 1 aircraft, if you are painting white over red (especially trim) you spray flat black over the red first. You shouldn’t have any problems paint white over black as long as the first coat is dry.

And BTW, welcome to the forum.

Just out of curiosity, why would you use black as a primer? The only time I have heard of using black as primer is when using alcad metallic paints.
