I got my copy at Barnes and Noble. It’s got illustrations for over 1300 military aircraft, not just Zeroes.
Other than that I’d search Froogle, Amazon, or Barnes and Noble for others.

I remember having seen a couple of photos of white Zekes with green crosses instead of Hinomarus, may be in “War Prizes”.

My hardbound copy of Flying Colors is one of my modeling bibles, although beware – it does have its inaccuracies, as well. I don’t know where you guys were looking, but the Zeroes in my copy had no surrender markings. The best I’ve seen are the many surrender decals and the painting profile that come with the old Hasegawa Betty and (now quite rare) Rita kits. It’s only a guess, but the Japanese national character doesn’t seem to leave a lot of room for admitting defeat, let alone advertising it with drawings and photos.

after reading that site mentioned above, I have the feeling the surrender markings were perhaps put on by the allies after the actualy surrender for safety when ferrying the captured planes to or from an area. Just a hunch. From what I understood about the plane in NZ, the green crosses didn’t get added until it was flown from the island or ferried aboard ship.
Tho is correct the japanese are a very proud people death before dishonor is a literal promise, i dont imagine you will have much luck finding surrender markings by the riseing sun, if there are any they were definitely produced by the allies. However the history chanel put out a documentary on secret japanese aircraft of ww2 they have a section in that documentary about T.A.I I believe there is some footage of a zero in surrender markings good luck.
ok got something for you here, it’s from a french web site that shows decals for different planes… this is their set for a zero in surrender markings:
looks like you could place the normal decals and do a light airbrushing of white then apply the green crosses…
what about when the japanese surrendered to the americans they sent a betty there, it was painted ‘white overall with green crosses over the hinamrus’’
