I’m new to modeling, and am having some trouble with keeping the wheels on my cars. All my instructions say not to glue them, but they just fall off. They don’t snap on or anything! Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this problem is driving me insane!
Most models come with rubber sleeves or gaskets that are fitted inside of the wheel assembly to hold the wheels in place but still allow movement and free motion. If your kits don’t come with them, they are easy to make from small rubber hoses, available at most auto parts stores.

Whenever I do a car kit, I always glue the wheels in place. I started doing this years ago after bumping a table that had a model on it that promptly rolled off and hit the (tile) floor.
I’m with Hoser, glue them on my friend.

I battle with the ‘glued’ wheels too. The little kid in my wants them to roll around so I can make ‘vroom vroom’ noises. The model builder in my wants the wheels to stay on and look right. If they don’t fit tightly, I usually glue them too…

Hey, I’ve had one or two tragic accidents with cars rolling off tables and going “splat” a fair distance below (funny, they don’t explode in a fireball like they do on tv…)
If you want to play with the model, let the wheels roll.
If you want to build to view and enjoy and display, glue the wheels.
Easy. There’s nothing wrong with deviating from the instructions…but always dry fit stuff first and think ahead for what else is to go onto the assembly.

I just today had the same discussion with my wife. She was complining that the wheels would’nt stay on a halftrack she’s doing and when i told her to glue them she told me thats not what the instructions said. Once again starting the age old debate about men not following instructions.
yeah i also go with the glued on wheels unless i get a kit with a sleave that holds the wheels on and they stay pretty much on and in place as long as ur old lady dont decide to clean them!!!
