I am new to this side of the forum. I am always in the aircraft. I have never built anything but WWII planes. Now, I will attempt this foray. My father in law was in the signal corps in Korea. He saw a ton of action as I talk to him about it all the time. He says he drove a truck, I assume it was a personnel carrier. What is available out there in terms of trucks that were in Korea? I am sorry I don’t have more details, I will try and get some. He does tell me how they slept under it in the cold months to stay warm. I was wondering if there was one main stay in particular that was used to haul everything. I want to build it as a present for Christmas.
They were using most of the vehiclesw from WW2. The 2 1/2 ton CCKW, 3/4 ton Beeps and weapon carriers, M-26 Dragon Wagon. The M-3 and 16 halftracks were used a lot also
What scale, 1/35 or 1/72? Tamiya makes a great 2 1/2 ton CCKW in 1/35 scale for around $30.00 bucks. Heller made the same truck although I,m not sure if they are available still for around $15.00. AFV Club sells the Beep 3/4 ton trucks and Italeri sells the three quarter and 1 1/2 ton kits.
