I have some time in modelling, but I just started my first steps in the scribing techniques, and even having almost all the tools (I think), I’m having a very hard time, specially in the round parts of aircraft fuselage…B)
Does anybody have some personal experience or solution for those parts, and tips, so I can improve the final results of my scribing ?
Edilson,
Swanney’s post was the most complete description i’ve read on scribing. One thing i’ve learned and will add…the very moment you believe you can free hand a scribe line is the very moment you need to take a break…have smaller less complex projects on the side to maintane your interest in model building.
i do most of my scribing with a sewing needle chucked into a pin vise. i normally use a erasing template for a straight edge and it is capable of going around some fairly mean curves. if the erasing template doesn’t do it, i use labeling tape as swanny has shown. later.
Edilson, this was a question that has popped into my head a few times. Thanks for asking it, and a special thanks to swanny for having such an informative, and illustrative writeup on it. semper fi, mike
