I was about to start the Italeri 1/72nd UH-1N Twin Huey.
As i was about to start i realised i was mising a part off the sprues, part 87A. Its the nose piece that goes onto the front of the aircraft, i am guessing a radar or sensor cover. Its only used on the British Army version, which of course is the one i am building. I bought the kit on e-bay earlier in the year and it was not in its original bag, so i can’t be certain if it was there when i got it or its come out after.
Has anyone got this part in the spares box of got the kit and planning on building the US or Austrian version and would like to part with it, i would be very grateful.
Sorry, wish I could help but I don’t build in 1/72 scale at all.
I’ve just completed the 1/48 scale Supermarine Walrus over in the aircraft forum and am about to start Kitty Hawk’s 1/48 UH-1D Huey. Never having built a helicopter before I’ll probably be asking you guys for some help along the way.
Coiuldn’t you build one by starting with a wood of plastic rod and then making the correct top fot it? I had to do the same thing to make a SII dome for the model of my wife’s C-130.
If you have not already done it, try posting your request on some of the other forums out there. You might get lucky and find what you need. There are lots of modelers out there, and someone probably has what you want. You just have to find them.
You may try contacting Italeri directly. I’ve done that recently with good luck. Be aware that they’ll charge you for the part and for shipping/handling. Never had it amount to more than $10.00 total though.
Thanks, i did do that, but the kit is OOP. There are quite a few kits that include the part i need as an unused part for that boxing, so just waiting to pick up up.
I realise it’s been a few months since you posted this request for missing parts from italeri’s 1/72 UH-1N twin Huey . I’m just getting back into the hobby after a 8 year hiatus . I’ve built several of these kits and have the missing part in my spares box if you still require it .
What about a (possibly captured?) Argentinian one from the Falklands? I haven’t any pics to pass on, but there must be something out there - just a suggestion.
Thats a thought Hutch. I believe the 2 thatb were taken out tehre were dismanteled before the fighting ended. I’ve not seen any pics either. I am sure i will find somthing to do with it.
