help with dry transfers

i bought a gundam MG kit and it has what i think are dry transfers.
i’m not sure they don’t look like regular decals.
how do i use them
i have several likts now so i need to learn.
they’re on clear plastic sheets.
the instructions with the kits are in japanese.
no english anywhere.

If they are dry transfers, take a pencil or similar pointed tool and rub them directly onto the model surface. Unlike water decals, once they are on you can’t reposition them … unless somebody out there knows how.

If they are dry transfers, cut them out just as with regular decals and place them on the model. You may want to anchor them with a bit of low-tack tape to keep them from moving around. Then rub them on as JG said. My personal tool of choice is a pencil.

Another tip for dry transfers is to make sure that you apply them to a fairly matte surface. They don’t grab gloss too well…

Once it is in place, I like to use a small piece of bulsa wood to rum it into place, because is is soft enough to conform to the shape of the surface. [:)]
