Right now i’m working on a project that will have a 1/72 scale F-14D cat of the last flight back in 2006. Also i’m adding her to a base that has all the cat squadron logos on the base. but the thing that i keep contemplating are the test and evalution squadrons. For example the Naval Weapons Test Squadron is now VX-23 so i can’t figure out should i to include all who flew the cat include the Pacific missile test center, VX-23, the Naval Air Test Center, NFWS NSAWC, VX-30, VX-31? I don’t know where to stop? i’m hoping if it turns out the wauy i want it to then it can be in a show.

There is also VX-4 ‘Evaluators’’ who had the Black Playboy Bunny scheme, i personally would go for this or the NATC as they have both been in operation since the early days of the Tomcat.

Thanks Marcus, I have all the divisions that flew the cat. I mean from Grumman, the active squadrons past and present, the reserve the test, and the eval squadrons. i ahve their logos sitting on my computer. i just can’t figure out should I add all the tes or since the test eval places have now been converted into squadrons should i just add the vx squadrons? Or since they did fly the cat( and those places are past suchas the past squadrons should i add them) and i also have nfws and nsawc.
You also might want to include the F-14 that was loaned to NASA for swept wing studies, and the Iranian Tomcats.

I hadn’t thught of that thanks, here’s another question. Right now I have 1/72 scale tomcat 14in long by 10in wide, and I have 40 1inx1in squadron logos that I’d like to put on the base along with a 5in Anytime baby patch. But whenever I designed it with 3 rows it comes out to be 24 long x12 wide. And that looks too rectangular. i’d like to make it shorter and deeper. But I can’t figure out the dimensions to make it more squarer. What might be the best program to resize the logos to still be readable but smaller? Can I have some advice please?
