I’m looking for some help posting pics of my model build. Any help would be great.

Hi J. First, if you go to forum help and do a search, there’s been some well written toots over the years.

In brief- you need a .jpg file, not a .pdf.

You need to upload it onto a website so that it gets it’s own url address. Most folks here seem to use “photobucket”- it’s free.

Go there, join and follow directions. They’ve made it pretty simple.

When you want to post a photo here, actually what you are doing is setting up a link.

Have your photo account site open at the same time as here.

In this reply window, click “use rich formatting”. Up top there is a little icon that looks like a film strip. To the left of it is something resembling a monitor I guess.

EDIT: well that’s annoying- half of my post disappeared. HRMPH!

Thank you for the info. They shood just let you copy and paste photos. That would be to easy.

FSM doesn’t want to allocate the memory space. Can’t say I blame them. Think about how many people post pics here, and not just one each. They would be overloaded pretty quickly.

PS If you are doing an original post and not answering another, it will automatically open in the ‘rich formatting’ window. You might have to experiment w/ which link to use to get it to post right. PhhotBucket has a get links icon that opens a pop up w/ four options. The one that I have found works best is the “Direct” . When you click on it, it will automatically copy it for you, then all you need is to paste it here.

I think I finnaly figured how to post pics. thank you all for the help.

  1. This works best if you open 2 windows: 1 in FSM and 1 in Imageshack, Photobucket, Dropbox, et al. Go to the photo site window and highlight and copy the “Direct Link” address. Go to the FSM widow containing your unfinished post. Go to the menu bar above your post, the icon that looks like a cellphone, the 2nd tier of the message control bar, the ELEVENTH icon It says ‘Insert Media’… CLICK IT. Paste the Direct Link address into the appropriate space. Then hit insert.

  2. Wait for the FSM site to show the photo, etc. etc.
