Help on TA-4J Masking

I have a Kit which requires a painted area starting on the nose passing through the intakes and body and ends up at the tail. This is in the order of gold, blue and gold again. The size is thinnest at the nose, and increases as it passes through the body and begin to decrease going to the tail. It is for a 75th Anniv of VFT-2 from USS Lexington. Thanks for any help and tips.

Have you tried cutting some Tamiya masking tape into strips around 3 millimetres across, and using that to mark out your lines?

After your lines have been masked, cover up the rest of the xposed area you dont wanted painted with paper, and go from there.

With the tape being so thin, it will be easy to follow complex curves without the tape wanting to ‘pucker up’ in areas.

Hope this helps
Sean

Thanks for the tips… gonna try them out.
