Help needed

I’m building the acdemy MiG-29 kit, and when the 2 top halves of the fuselage are glued together, there is a noticabl;e step in the fuselage. The left side of the kind of round part leading up to the cokpit is OK, but the right side extends a couple of millimeters beyond!!! Creating, as I said, a step. How would I eliminate this? Thanks.

Well, without seeing exactly what your issue is, I would suggest that either you’re in for some major sanding, or if blending the offset will be noticeable, you might try taping off the area and laying in a few coats of Mr. Surfacer 1000. Once the Mr. Surfacer has cured, you can blend it in by sanding with progressively finer grit. I’ve used this technique many times. Be prepared to rescribe lost detail.

I would probably just use a file. Can you post a pic?

Try glueing a piece of sprue hard up against the higher side and then start sanding, and as crocket says ‘Be prepared to rescribe lost detail’ this method may involve some filling, depending on how large the problem is. Although be sure the higher side is the most correct profile. Best of luck
